SUSANA MUÑOZ, LPC

Hello, I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Luciana Mental Health. I work with women, mothers, couples, adults with ADHD, and high-achieving professionals who may feel overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or exhausted by perfectionism and the pressure to hold everything together. I have completed advanced psychotherapy training through Postpartum Support International, a leading authority in perinatal mental health. My goal is to create a space where clients can understand the patterns keeping them stuck, process what feels heavy, and build healthier ways of coping, relating, and moving forward.

My approach is tailored to each client’s needs and goals. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients process difficult experiences, strengthen emotional regulation, and create meaningful, lasting change. When appropriate, I may also incorporate EMDR, Brainspotting, and IFS-informed parts work.

My Story

know what it is like to look capable on the outside while internally feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and responsible for keeping everything together. For years, I believed being a good mother, partner, and professional meant doing more, anticipating everyone’s needs, and making sure nothing fell apart.

My own experiences with postpartum anxiety and understanding my ADHD changed the way I saw myself. Things I had interpreted as personal shortcomings began to make more sense. I started recognizing how easily anxiety, perfectionism, guilt, trauma, and ADHD can become tangled together, especially when you have spent years being the person who handles everything.

As a first-generation Latina, mother, and therapist, I also understand how family expectations, culture, relationships, and the experiences we grew up with can shape who we believe we need to be. Sometimes you can understand exactly where a pattern comes from and still struggle to stop repeating it.

Many of the clients I work with are incredibly self-aware. You may know why you overthink, people-please, overfunction, struggle to rest, or feel responsible for everyone around you. The frustrating part is that knowing why has not necessarily changed how it feels.

That is where I believe therapy can go deeper. Together, we can understand what is underneath these patterns, heal experiences that still feel unresolved, and build ways of living and relating that actually fit who you are now.

You do not have to keep proving how much you care by carrying everything alone.

Women, Mothers, and Life Transitions

I support women navigating motherhood, pregnancy and postpartum changes, identity shifts, relationship concerns, and the emotional weight of caring for everyone else while feeling disconnected from themselves.

ADHD, Perfectionism, and High Achievement

I work with adults with ADHD, executives, entrepreneurs, and high-achieving professionals who feel overwhelmed by competing demands, perfectionism, difficulty slowing down, or the constant pressure to keep everything together.

Trauma and Generational Patterns

I help clients process childhood experiences, relationship wounds, betrayal, and patterns that may have been passed down through families. Our work focuses on understanding what keeps you stuck and creating healthier ways of coping, connecting, and moving forward.

Couples and Relationship Repair

I work with couples navigating disconnection, communication difficulties, recurring conflict, infidelity, and major life transitions. Therapy provides a structured space to understand the patterns between you, rebuild emotional safety, and create meaningful change in your relationship.
